Knit Crochet Vintage Bed Jackets and Smart Slipper Patterns from this treasury of knitting and crochet patterns first issued in 1946.

I was asked by Janet Polley member to share a bed jacket pattern that uses the garter stitch, I hope she’ll love this vintage collection.

Morning Glory – Bed Jacket #487

MATERIALS

Bear Brand or Bucilla Wonderized Pompadour /or Fleisher’s Wonderized Silverflake, 7 balls

Bucilla Plastic Knitting Needles, 1 pair size 5.

Bucilla plastic Crochet Hook, Size 1.

MEASUREMENTS

The width of back at underarm 19 3/4 ins of each front 12 1/2. Sleeves width 14 1/2 ins.

GAUGE

7 sts = 1 inch / 9 rows = 1 inch

Scuffs #494

Medium Size

MATERIALS

Fleisher’s superior Knitting worsted or/Bear Brand Standard Knitting worsted 1 skein.

Fleisher’s or Bear Brand Sweater Floss, 1 ball

Bucilla Plastic Crochet Hook, size 6

SOLE

Make sole using two strands of knitting Worsted, see N@ 495, Page 15

NOTE

Entire slipper top is made using one strand of knitting Worsted and two strands of Sweater Floss.

Fleisher’s, Bear Brand or Bucilla Baby Zephyr, 3-fold, 7 balls.

Bucilla Plastic Crochet Hook, Size 3.

MEASUREMENTS

Width of back at underarm 27 ins. of each front 15 ins. Sleeves Width 16.5 ins.

GAUGE

(double crochet) 6 sts = 1 inch

3 rows = 1 inch

(Knit st) 2 knot sts = 2 inches

2 rows = 1 inch
