This superb 1970’s vintage Irish Crochet lace bedspread show’s how Irish lace motifs combine for their full effect.

Although such an item is priceless, you may feel daunted by such a vast project.

If so, use the motifs to make a runner or tray cloth, or tablecloth.

Size

The bedspread consists of 324 squares forming 18 rows of 18 yards. Each square is made of one large center rosebud surrounded by 4 scrolls. Thus, 289 tiny rosebuds fill the spaces at the corner of each square when they are joined.

Gauge

Each large rosebud measures 2 1/4 x 2 1/5 inches when unblocked.

Materials

Clark’s Big Ball Mercerized Crochet 3 cord, size 30

One Number B crochet hook

Each ball of crochet cotton makes approximately 2 large rosebuds, 4 scrolls, and 4 tiny rosebuds.
