James Lees & Sons Company is where Columbia Minerva originated, Columbia and Minerva were once independent yarn manufacturers once owned by William H Horstmann and Edward C. Bettem.

During the 50’s Minerva Mills changed its name to Columbia Minerva corporation.

In 1960, Burlington purchased James Lees & Sons, two years later, Burlington became the first textile firm to exceed $1 billion in sales.

Columbia Minerva published patterns through the 80’s and merges with Caron International.

In 2012, bought Caron, but not Columbia-Minerva.
