Bedspread of Filet Crochet Lace Filet Bedspread Instructions SOLARIZED Crochet Cotton, 17 cones (800 yds.) White or Ecru. Crochet Hook Size 8. Ch 1029, 1 tr in 9th ch from hook, 1 tr in every 3rd ch to end of row (341 meshes across spread or 13 patterns), ch 6 to turn and work 3 rows open meshes, then follow chart for the desired length. (NOTE: There should be 3 open meshes on each side of finished patterns on spread in order to have a balanced-design for joining border.) Work 1 row s c around spread as the foundation to join border. BORDER: Ch 39, 1 tr in 9th ch from hook (11 open meshes), ch 6 to turn and follow chart working border desired length. Join to spread with s c or by sewing. Use SOLARIZED Crochet Cotton, working stitch, to stitch and increasing at corner so that work lies flat. Join. To Increase: Ch 11, 1 tr in 5th ch from hook, 1 tr in next 5 sts, tr over tr. This 3 piece set requires 1 skein of Daisy, or 3 balls of Lily Mercrochet Cord. The small doilies measure about 11 1\2 x 6 1\2 inches, and the large doily 17 x 9 1\2. These doilies start at the center. Working back and forth, make first one-half of the doily, then attach thread to the first row, and work the other half in precisely the same way as the first half. SMALL DOILY-Ch 63 for the fundamental ch that runs through the center of the doily. 1-Make a t in 4th st from hook, and make 1 t in each of next 3 sts, ch 3, skip 3 sts and make a t in each of next 5 sts, twice, so that there will be 3 groups of the t sts with 2 chains between them. The solid stripes (of 5 t sts) and the ch between them are the same as in first row throughout the work, therefore the following instructions pertain to the loop meshes only. 2-After last solid stripe ch 2, make an outstanding loop in first outstanding loop of first row, ch 1; repeat. 3-Work this row same as 2nd row, but ch 2 between the outstanding loops instead of only 1. 4th and 5th Rows are the same as 3rd row. 6th and 7th Row-Ch 3 between the outstanding loops, otherwise work same as 2nd row. 8-After last solid stripe ch 3, and also ch 3 between the outstanding loops. 9-Same as 8th row. 10-Ch 4 after last solid stripe, then make a group of 5 t sts in first outstanding loop, ch 4; repeat. ll-After last solid stripe ch 3, make 2 t in first st of the t group, 1 in each of next 3 sts, and 2 in last st, ch 3; repeat. 12-Ch 2, make 2 t in first st of the t group, 1 in each of next 5 sts, 2 in last st, ch 2; repeat. 13-Ch 1, 2 t in first st of group, 1 in each of next 7 sts, 2 in last st, ch 1; repeat. 14-Ch 4, skip 5 sts of the t group and make a t in 6th st, ch 5, t in same st as last t, ch 2; repeat. 15-Ch 4, then make an outstanding loop in each outstanding loop of previous row and ch 3 between them. 16-Ch 4, then make a petal of 3 dt, worked off together, in first outstanding loop, ch 5, another petal in same loop, ch 3; repeat. (Hereafter break thread at end of each row and attach to the other end, so that all rows will start from the same end.) 17-Ch 6 between the petals instead of only 5, otherwise this row is the same as 16th row. 18-Work across 2 of the solid stripes in the usual way, then ch 3 and make a t in first t of next stripe, ch 6 and make 2 dt worked off together, in first loop, ch 6, make a petal of 5 dt in same loop, again ch 6 and make 2 dt in same loop, ch 1; repeat. 19-1 sc in each of first 16 sts, 9 sc over the side ch of scallop, also 9 over first loop of scallop, and 3 over next loop. Then ch 6 for the extra loop, and catch back into 4th st of preceding loop; work 12 sc over the loop just made, and 6 sc over remaining half of preceding loop, and a slip st between scallops. LARGE DOILY-Commence on a ch of 84 sts. 1-Same as first row of small doily, except that 4 solid stripes are made in this doily instead of only 3, and in the center 4 outstanding loops instead of 3. 2-Same as first row. 3rd and 4th Rows are the same as 2nd row of small doily. From 5th to 8th Row, inclusive, same as 3rd row of small doily. From 9th to l2th Row, inclusive, ch 3 after the solid stripes and between the outstanding loops. In 13th and 14th Rows, ch 4 between outstanding loops. In 15th and 16th Rows, ch 6 for the outstanding loops instead of the usual 5, and ch 4 between them. 17-After last solid stripe ch 5, make a group of 5 t sts in first outstanding loop, ch 5, and repeat. 18-Ch 4 after last solid stripe, make 2 t sts in first st of the t group, 1 in each of next 3 sts, and 2 in last st, ch 4; repeat. 19-Make 2 t in first and last st of the t group, and ch 3 between the groups. 20-Same as 19th row, but ch only 2 between the t groups. 21-Ch 1 between t groups, otherwise same as 19th row. 22-After last solid stripe, ch 5, skip 6 sts of the t group and make a t in 7th st, ch 5, t in same st as last t, ch 3; repeat. 23-Same as 22nd row, but ch 4 between the outstanding loops instead of 3. 24-Ch 5 after last solid stripe, make a petal of 3 dt in first loop, ch 5, another petal in same loop, ch 3 and repeat. (From now on break thread at end of each row and attach to other end.) 25-Same as 24th row, but ch 4 between the of 2 petals instead of 3. 26 Ch 6 for the outstanding loops between the 2 petals instead of only 5, otherwise this row is the same as 25th row. 27-Work across 3 of the solid stripes in the usual way, ch 3, t in first t of next stripe, ch 6, 2 dt, worked off together, in the outstanding loop, ch 6, petal of 5 dt in same loop, ch 6, dt, ch 2; repeat. 28-Same as 19th row of small doily.
